We have been overwhelmed with the support that we received on Saturday for our first ever open day at our State-of-the-art rehoming centre in Catherine-de-Barnes. We had over 2,000 people turn up on the day to help support all the stray dogs in our care, each and every one of them helping to celebrate a day dedicated to the dogs in both our centres.
With so much on offer on the day including Fun Dog show, Tombola, Raffle, Pick-a-Lolly, Face Painting, Bric-a-Brac, BBQ, Refreshments, Shopping stalls and much more we are pleased to let all our supporters know that you have helped to raise over £7,600!
We can’t thank you all enough for turning up in your thousands, supporting us and raising a huge amount of vital funds for our stray dogs – a very big thank you from everyone at Birmingham Dogs Home.
We enjoyed every moment of our first ever open day and we hope you all enjoyed your day with us too. To have achieved this on our 125th year makes it even more special and we are so fortunate to have you all as our dedicated supporters. It was a pleasure to meet each and every one of you, your families and of course your dogs too.
It was a great success because you all came out to support us.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those that helped us during the build-up and on the day. To all our volunteers, staff, staff from Sunnyside and staff family members – a very big thank you for all your help throughout this event. To everyone that baked cakes and cupcakes, to Geoff, for allowing us to use his field for parking – thank you (it couldn’t have taken place without his help)! A big thank you to Niel Jackson for his great work hosting the dog show and event. To our sponsors – St George's Vets, thank you for your continued support, for all the goodie bags and for Steve and Stuart as the Judges (a very hard job), to Jollyes Willenhall , Ancol Pet Products and Pedigree UK for your donated items for our goody bags and for your continued support and finally thank you to Pets at home Sutton Coldfield for donating your proceeds to us and for your continued support.
Our last thank you goes to you, our supporters – we couldn’t continue our work without your continued support. Thank you for attending and we hope to see you next year – July 2018, keep an eye out on our social media pages and website for the date!
Please share your photos on the day with us – we love to see them! #BDHOpenDay2017
