Big Bed Appeal

Birmingham Dogs Home cares for 230 dogs at any one time, rescuing over 2,000 a year across the Midlands. Our goal is to provide elevated orthopaedic beds in each of our 230 kennels – ensuring every dog we care for has the proper support and comfort they need to rest, recover, and feel safe.

Help give abandoned dogs the comfort they deserve

We rely on generous donations of dog beds and bedding from our supporters, which come in all shapes and sizes. While we’re grateful for every donation, the beds quickly become flattened, dirty, and worn out from constant use. As a result, they offer little support, especially for dogs with special medical needs or those recovering from surgery or injury.

The benefits of elevated orthopaedic beds

Help with recovery

Relieves pressure on joints and bones, helping with recovery from injury or surgery

Cooler & comfortable

Keep dogs cooler and more comfortable, especially in warmer weather or helps keep them warm when it gets chilly, being raised from the hard floor

Better sleep

Promote better quality sleep, which aids in healing

Reduce infection

Reduce the risk of infection by being easier to clean and maintain

Tough and long-lasting

Designed to be chew-proof and durable, so they won’t need to be constantly replaced, making them a sustainable investment in our dogs’ welfare.
