Boarding Terms and Conditions

1. Right to Cancel: Birmingham Dogs Home reserves the right to cancel the booking if any of the terms outlined in this agreement are not adhered to, or if the dog’s behaviour is deemed unsafe or unmanageable during their stay.

2. Payment: At time of booking, we will require a 25% non-refundable deposit. All outstanding monies to be paid on your pet’s arrival date.

3. Vaccinations: An up-to-date vaccination certificate is required at the time of boarding, showing that your pet has received annual boosters and a kennel cough vaccine at least one month before the stay. Failure to provide this may result in refusal of boarding. Birmingham Dogs Home will hold the vaccination card for the duration of your pet’s stay and return it upon collection.

4. Kennel Cough Vaccine: Dogs must have the kennel cough vaccine administered at least 14 days before the boarding start date. Any dog arriving without this vaccine or within the 14-day period post-vaccine will be refused entry for health and safety reasons.

5. Medical Conditions and Medication: All past and present medical conditions must be disclosed prior to boarding. Any necessary medication should be supplied for the entire duration of the stay, accompanied by clear, written instructions for administration. Birmingham Dogs Home will administer medication as directed but cannot be held liable for any adverse reactions.

6. Veterinary Care: While every effort will be made to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet, all animals are boarded at the owner’s risk. In the event of illness or injury, Birmingham Dogs Home is authorised to seek veterinary care on the owner’s behalf and any associated costs will be covered by the owner.

7. Parasite Control: All pets must be treated for fleas, ticks, and worms prior to their stay. If a pet is found to have any parasites during boarding, treatment will be administered at the owner’s expense.

8. Behaviour: All pets must be of sound temperament and able to adapt to a kennel environment. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behaviour towards staff or other animals may be refused entry or removed from the kennel, and the owner will be responsible for collecting their pet immediately.

9. Drop-off and Collection: Drop-off and collection times must be adhered to as specified in the booking. Late collection beyond the agreed date may result in additional boarding charges. Only authorised individuals, as specified by the owner, may collect your pet.

10. Abandonment: If a pet is not collected within 28 days of the agreed collection date and no communication or payment has been made by the owner, Birmingham Dogs Home reserves the right to rehome the pet in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

11. Personal Belongings: Birmingham Dogs Home does not allow personal items such as bedding or toys to be left with your pet during their stay. We kindly ask that you keep these belongings at home, as we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to such items. We can only accept leads, harnesses, haltis, and muzzles that the dog is wearing upon arrival.

12. Liability: Birmingham Dogs Home will take every reasonable measure to ensure your pet’s safety and well-being. However, we cannot be held liable for injury, illness, or loss during the boarding period unless due to our negligence.

13. Data Protection: Birmingham Dogs Home will collect and store personal data in accordance with GDPR regulations. This data will only be used to facilitate your pet’s stay and will not be shared with third parties unless legally required.

14. Dangerous Dogs and Aggression: We are unable to accept bookings for any dog subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or any dog with aggression issues towards other dogs and/or people. For the safety of our staff and other dogs, all behavioural concerns must be disclosed prior to booking.

15. Changes to Bookings: Changes to your booking, such as extending or shortening your dog’s stay, must be requested in advance and are subject to availability.

16. Food Supply: Clients must provide enough of their dog’s regular food for the duration of their stay. We recommend packaging food in daily portions to avoid confusion.

17. Photography Consent: With your consent, we may take photos of your dog during their stay for use on our website or social media. You may opt out of this by notifying us in advance.

Important Notice – Birmingham Centre Closed this Thursday, 18th Sept.

Our Birmingham Centre will be closed to the public this Thursday due to essential maintenance works in the local area, which will leave us without power and water for the day.

Please be assured that our dedicated team will be fully prepared to manage this disruption. The welfare of our dogs remains our top priority – they will still receive all the care, cleaning, and plenty of fresh water they need throughout the day.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We’ll be back open as usual on Friday.
