3-year-old Miniature Dachshund
Cherry Pie was a miniature Dachshund who was found stray, right outside the Wolverhampton Centre. She was spotted running around the lane outside the centre clearly scared and stressed. The Canine Team tried to catch her but she ran away every time they got close.
Obviously worried for her safety they tried time and time again to catch her but whenever they got close she darted into the bushes, this went on for a few worrying days. Knowing she would be hungry and cold the Management Team worked with the owner of a field and a barn next door to the Wolverhampton centre to try and lure her to safety.
They set up a bowl of tasty and smelly dinner in the barn with the hope that the smell would encourage her into the barn where they could finally catch her. Luckily for Cherry Pie, and the team, it worked! She soon came running into the barn for something to eat and after she had eaten the Wolverhampton Team could finally take her to safety.
She was thoroughly checked over and luckily had nothing more wrong with her than being cold, tired, and very hungry. She wasn’t as scared or as timid as the team initially thought and was very keen to have cuddles and give lots of kisses. She was rehomed to a wonderful lady a couple of weeks later and has settled into family life well.
