Where do we even begin with Gummy Bear? This special two-year-old Cane Corso arrived at our Wolverhampton Centre in May 2025, and from the moment he stepped through the door, we knew he was truly unique. Found as a stray, it quickly became clear that Gummy Bear was blind, deaf, and missing quite a few teeth. We’ll never know if he was born this way or if these challenges developed over time—but one thing was certain: his love for life was undeniable.
Despite everything he’d been through, Gummy Bear didn’t let it hold him back. He adored gentle cuddles with his Canine Carers and took to his daily walks with quiet confidence. Sure, he’d occasionally bump into things or lose his footing, but he quickly learned to trust his carers and navigate the BDH in his own way.
We knew Gummy Bear would need a very special home—one that could embrace his quirks and give him the calm, loving environment he deserved. In June, that perfect match came along. Gummy Bear was adopted by a wonderful family who live on a peaceful narrowboat, alongside two senior dogs. The slower pace of canal life and the company of his calm new companions turned out to be just what he needed.

“He has been brilliant. Thank you for the opportunity to be this little man’s humans. Brilliant with the ladies (other dogs), slept for 12 hours straight last night. Eating well, clean in the boat—what more can we say but thank you.”
