Little Boo was our 2-year-old small but mighty Miniature Dachshund. We unfortunately don’t know much about her life before she arrived at BDH as she was found stray in the Coventry area. As expected, Little Boo was nervous of new people and changes within her environment and preferred to take life at quite a slow pace. She wasn’t keen on being handled, the vets or other dogs so her Canine Carers knew she needed some additional support and socialization to help her on her journey to a new home.
This process happened over a few months and included muzzle training, gentle introductions to calmer dogs and slow strokes and cuddles from different Canine Carers to show her the world wasn’t so scary. Over the few months she stayed with us her resilience to the world massively improved and put her in a good position to find a new home.
At the end of January, she was rehomed to a family who has spent many weeks coming to meet her at the centre so they could get to know each other. They all loved each other from day one and she has soon settled into family life. Already she has been out and about in the car, carefully meeting her new furry neighbours and enjoying plenty of cuddles on the sofa. Congratulations Little Boo!
