Our longest standing Sponsor a Kennel dog, Nitro, finally found his new home at the end of January! Since being with us since May 2024 Nitro has waited patiently in his kennel, the Miracle Motel, waiting for the day his fur-ever family arrived.
Nitro came to Birmingham Dogs Home in May 2024 and had quite a tough, and unsettled life before he arrived. It seemed that he had lived in a lot of different homes by the age of 3 and hadn’t had the consistency and routine a dog needs.
Even though he had lived in a lot of homes he hadn’t learned many commands so spent a lot of time with his Canine Carers learning the basics. As he bonded with his Canine Carers his shyness melted away to reveal a friendly, loving dog who just wanted a home to call his own.
Due to his size, we knew he needed a home with older children who could keep up with his energy, but with a family who could commit the time to him he so desperately needed to become a well-rounded, family dog.
Weeks quickly turned into months with little interest in Nitro, and we couldn’t understand why. Nitro was a dog who loved cuddles, playing and although was a bit shy with strangers, soon warmed up to new people.
As the New Year rang in Nitro’s dreams of a fur-ever family came true and he was matched with a wonderful family who knew he was the missing piece in their home! It was love at first sight, and they soon began to prepare to bring him home for a lifetime of love and adventures.
