Meet Magnus!

Magnus is a very excitable and boisterous boy who absolutely adores people. He is a real people dog who loves attention affection and being made a fuss of and he will happily stay close to you whenever he gets the chance. Magnus can be extremely enthusiastic when meeting people and doesn’t always realise just how big and strong he is so he will need someone who can give him clear firm and consistent guidance while helping him learn his manners.

Magnus is a very jumpy and clingy boy and when he gets excited he can jump right up towards your face for attention. He isn’t being unfriendly; he simply becomes very over-aroused because he is so eager to interact. His new family will need to be prepared to teach him that keeping four paws on the floor is the best way to get the fuss and attention he loves so much. With patience consistency and plenty of positive reinforcement Magnus has lots of potential to become a much more settled companion.

On walks Magnus generally walks well although he can pull forwards when something catches his attention. He will need continued work on his lead manners and general obedience but he is a friendly enthusiastic boy who enjoys being out and about. He doesn’t currently show much interest in toys at the centre although this may well change once he is settled into a home. He does enjoy a bit of rough and tumble play and above all else seems to value interaction with his people.

Magnus is looking for a home with children aged 13 or over and where he can be the only dog. He is very vocal and can become highly aroused around other dogs so he would not be suitable to live alongside another dog. He is not an unfriendly boy but his excitement and larger than life personality can simply be a lot for other dogs.

Magnus has shown no negative response around food which is another positive to build upon. What he really needs now is a family who understands that underneath all that exuberance is a boy who simply loves people and wants to be involved. He will need firm but kind handling clear boundaries patience and plenty of affection.

If you’re looking for a big-hearted boy who will adore you right back Magnus could be your man. He has plenty to learn but with the right person to guide him his enthusiasm and love for people could make him a wonderfully devoted companion.
