Meet Max!
Max is a handsome boy who came to us from another rescue in hope of finding his forever home. He is a cheeky and affectionate boy with lots of personality who loves food!
Max can be very wary of new people and likes to take his time getting to know someone. Once he feels comfortable his sweet and loving nature really shines through. Because of these reasons – multiple meets will be required to help him build a bond with his potential adopters before going home.
Food is definitely the way to Max’s heart! He knows several basic commands including sit paw and lie down. He enjoys learning when tasty treats are involved! However he can sometimes become a little demanding around treats and may bark or snatch if he’s feeling impatient so continued work on his manners will be beneficial.
Max generally walks nicely on lead although he can occasionally pull when excited. He is not keen on being ovehandled and wears a muzzle for veterinary visits to help him feel more comfortable during examinations.
Potential adopters should be aware that Max has an existing heart condition and will require a follow up scan in 12 months time which will be covered by the rescue. He also has some mild joint changes that may require monitoring as he gets older. Our team will be happy to discuss his medical history in more detail here at the centre.
Max is looking for a home with no other dogs and could live with dog-savvy children aged 13 years and over who can respect his boundaries.
He is a lovely boy who is ready to find a patient and understanding home. With the right family he will make a loyal and rewarding companion.
