Laura’s Ins-paw-ration for taking on Snowdon

As we prepare to tackle Snowdon at Sunrise, we’ve had the chance to connect with fellow adventurers embarking on this challenge alongside us. We delved into what inspired them to join, and their perspectives on the journey that lies ahead.

“It was Christmas Day and I was feeling overwhelmed seeing the amount of people who had “purchased” puppies on social media. Unfortunately, several people who I’ve known to abandon dogs previously. I felt really disheartened, as I’d not long received a Christmas update, regarding how significantly rescue centres are struggling with the intake of dogs – largely who’ve been abandoned post-pandemic/ ex-breeding dogs and, sadly, due to the cost of living crisis for many families.

I set myself three goals this year.

1) to raise awareness of #adoptdon’tshop, via starting a social media page. Also to advocate for a change to the current breeding regulations.

2) to sponsor more doggos.

3) to find a charity event to get involved in.

Other than my daily dog walks, I’m 100% a couch potato! But going to do this, and think of our loyal four legged friends as motivation. Dogs don’t have their own voice, and what a scary world it must be, if you’re in the care of someone who doesn’t advocate your best interests. “Saving one dog won’t change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever”.

Good Luck Laura!
